Rihanna catches Elvis Presley’s UK charts record

With 5 #1 singles in 5 years in a row, Rihanna is the first singer to equal King of Rock n’ Roll Elvis Presley’s record on UK charts.
On January 9th 2011 Rihanna released a statement on her Twitter page, thanking her overseas fans for helping her break another record: “Another week! LOUD and What’s my Name are the #1 ALBUM and SINGLE respectively!!! UK you are on FYAH!!! Rah Rah! THANK U! Where my #UKNavy.”
The 22-year-old pop sensation from Barbados is the only singer to have had the ability to match the King of Rock n’ Roll Elvis Presley’s record on the British charts: 5 #1 singles in 5 consecutive years. From “Umbrella” to “What’s My Name,” the newly red-headed singer has become the princess of the United Kingdom charts.
